I recorded this in the morning during the summer. I heard the horn a few moments earlier about 7:30 am so i ran outside with my camera and recorded a really long one. This is the canadian pacific enjoy!. Tools used:audacitysony cybershot camera.

I'd call it a rather mundane and balanced recording actually.

" is heard at the crosswalk control box, followed by the horn of a commuter train leaving the mountain view station for san jose, ca, interspersed with various traffic/commute-hour sounds. . . Usa, california - a diesel goods train is passing by in the ghost town of bagdad in the mojave desert. Close recording of the train (a couple of meters). Train horn is announcing he is coming. After a rain storm, if it's a hot day the mist will rise, particularly in my river valley. There are railroad tracks on the far side of the valley from where i live, about five miles distant. In damp air the sound really carries. This file is unmodified.

A mockingbird singing at midnight. Some suburban sounds can also be heard, such as a train horn. A passing insomniac wondered whether i was making all the noise, and i told him no, it was a bird.

This is my first time ever recording ambiance, i used the tascam dr-40, please leave any notes and suggestions on how i can better make these ambient recordings. Geese flying about 10 feet overhead and honking. You can hear them approach, fly off and get absorbed by the sounds of all the other birds (and a train horn in the distance). Sorry, mono only since i had to hit record pretty fast when i saw them coming. . .

The sound of thunder rumbling followed by rain. Additional sounds include: an air conditioning unit, wind, birds, a distant train horn, passing cars, the dinging of a flagpole (at 4:05), and cicadas (at 10:54). After recording trains crossing the adjacent tracks i turned the microphones southwest towards the intersection of harrison and wabash. Traffic was heavy and drivers were frequently blowing their horns at each other. A couple of vehicles playing loud music stop at the light. Time of recording was 5:57pm. Weather was warm, in the 80s. Recorded with lifecam hd3000 you can hear kids playing outside my window, the neighbors' stereo in the apartment next door, their air conditioner, their vacuum cleaner after they shut down the stereo, they're tromping around and hitting the walls, a few distant birds, and one toot of a train about to come into town. It's forbidden for them to blow the horn inside city limits.

The microphones are facing across the street to the el tracks which cross diagonally across the block at this point. The curvature of the tracks causes the squeaking of the wheels. Trains heading into the loop (north) tend to travel more slowly than those heading south. Cars accumulate at the intersection of harrison and wabash to the south (left). Time of recording was 5:41pm. A cricket chirps constantly. Urban white noise, a car passes, a distant train horns.

Recorded a train i was on. It's the patco train between philadelphia and nj suburbs. Sorry for the length but i figured it would be most useful if you could cut and mix it up for different sounds since there are a many different types. Tunnel, terrestrial, horns, door bell, door actions etc. Recorded from the second car.

Birds chirping, police sirens in the distance and the birds reacting slightly, human visitors making bird sounds, car horns in the distance, children talking in the distance, more birds singing, traffic noise in the distance, train (s-bahn) driving in the distance.
